The Nation of Settlers works to restore immigration policy that serves the American people. For the four decades after 1924, restraint produced rising wages, expanding homeownership, and the full assimilation of earlier immigrant waves into one nation. The 1990 Immigration Act ended that era. Since then, 32 million foreign-born residents have arrived faster than any society can absorb, straining wages, housing, and the cultural bonds that hold a country together.
We believe a nation has the sovereign right to decide who joins it and on what terms. We make the case for deep cuts to immigration levels, an end to illegal entry, and real assimilation standards: English proficiency, civic knowledge, and a shared American identity. We write for the citizens already here, of every background, who built this country and deserve a say in its future.
